Flipkart temporarily suspends all services in India, complete lockdown for next 21 days

India's E-commerce giant Flipkart has temporarily suspended all of its services in India after the PM. Narendra Modi's call for the complete lockdown to curb the spread of covid-19. The Walmart has owned company's sudden announcement has come despite the fact that central government has included e-commerce services as one of the essential services in its essential list notification, put out the tuesday evening.

Flipkart has already marked all of products as 'Out Of Stock' on the search option of its app and website.

Flipkart is not yet to reveal when it will going its normal service operations.

"Your needs to have always been our priority, and our promise is that we will be back to serve you, as soon as possible," a message reads on the Flipkart's official website.

This announcement has comes a day after Amazon India on Tuesday announced it has temporarily stopped taking orders and disabled shipment of low-priority products as it focuses on delivery of essential items like household staples, hygiene and other high-priority products amid to the country-wide lockdown to fight the spread of virus.

Many reports of the harassing of the delivery partners of their e-commerce companies including Grofers and Bigbasket, by policemen in different parts of the India, have surfaced on Twitter and social media's.

India's PM Mr.Narendra Modi on this tuesday declared a 21 days nationwide “complete lockdown" from the midnight of Tuesday in the world’s largest such exercise aimed at the stemming to the spread of the virus that has been infected over the 557 people and claimed the lives of 10 in the country.
